This project is born with the client’s curiosity to create a space that offers a wide selection of cocktails/liquor and a chef design menu inspired from street food of Mexico. The studio participation consisted in: concept, preliminary design, construction, interior design and project management. The first step was to demolish part of the building’s roof in order to gain a taller interior space.
The overall concept for the design is based on a collage of different textures, materials and patterns. The collage served an as framework to the application of materials within the ceiling and wall volumes. The main goal was to create multiple experiences within the space depending on where is one seated. The project uses the following materials as finishes: artificial vegetation, oxidized metal sheets, travertine, perforated metal, stamped concrete, recycled wood, beveled OSB wood planks, subway tile, wallpaper, jute fabric, Carrara marble, steel rods and large glass jars as light covers.
