Casa Baloyán

Casa Baloyán began with the need of creating a space that functions as an event venue, wine bar and as a winery. The challenge was to make each space work independently. The studio participation consisted in: concept, preliminary design, construction, interior design and project management. The winery and venue are connected through a tempered glass arched window revealing the stainless steel machinery as a background to the venue. The leading design criteria was to create an ageless design that blends with contemporary modern finishes. The interior ceiling of the venue is covered by a row of vaulted ceilings that culminate in the walls as arches. The background of this arches are covered with perforated metal. The lighting is design to emphasize the vaulted ceilings by placing indirect lights on the floor. On each of peak of the vaulted ceiling a chandelier was placed for direct ambiance lighting. The facade was design in the same style and plays with different finishes: rusted perforated metal panels, cantera stone, rusted metal sheets and travertine.
